PROGRAM:

Featuring Franz Schubert's masterful Piano Trio No. 2 in E-flat Major for violin, cello and piano D929, performed by internationally recognized violinst Aaron Boyd - Director of Chamber Music and Chair of Strings at Southern Methodist University - alongside cellist SaiSai Ding and pianist Jialin Yao, piano - rising stars currently enrolled in the SMU chamber music program.

- AARON BOYD, violin 

Violinist Aaron Boyd has established an international career as soloist, chamber musician, orchestral leader, recording artist, lecturer and educator. Since making his New York recital debut in 1998, Boyd has appeared at the most prestigious venues throughout the United States, Europe, Russia and Asia and has collaborated with members of the Juilliard, Guarneri, Orion, Tokyo and Emerson Quartets, the Beaux Arts Trio, Phillippe Entremont, Mitsuko Uchida, Anner Bylsma, Lynn Harrell, Cho-Liang Lin, Wu Han and David Finckel.

- SAISAI DING, cello 

Cellist SaiSai Ding has collaborated with various symphony orchestras in different cities,including the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, Russian Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Youth Symphony Orchestra, Louisville Symphony Orchestra, and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in the United States. He has also received awards such as first place in the Youth Group of the National Aiqin Cup Cello Competition and first place in the performance of Chinese works, first place in the Czech Heran International Cello Competition, first place in the Russian Knuzevitsky International Cello Competition, first place in the Youth Performer Competition of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and the Schoenfeld Best Commission Prize, and many more.

- JIALIN YAO, piano

Pianist Jialin Yao has been hailed for his “mature, sensitive and polished playing with serious attitude towards music making and a strong mindset for interpretive details” (Dmitri Alexeev), and he is increasingly recognized for his “natural musicianship as well as his very sophisticated technical skills” (Michel Béroff). His love of bringing warmth, passion, and magic to audiences has led to performances throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. Being a multi-dimensional musician, Jialin not only appears on the stage as a chamber musician and collaborator, but is also committed to piano teaching. Currently, he is serving as secondary piano course teacher at the Juilliard School. He is a firm believer that the most moving music can only come from the most open-hearted and truthful human beings.
